So let's jump into the ingredients of our recipe :

'VERMICELLI VEGGIE UPMA'



NOTE: This list serves two people, you can tweak the quantity as per no. of servings

  • ➤ Roasted Vermicelli – 1 cup
  • ➤ Vegetable Oil – 1 teaspoon
  • ➤ Mustard Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • ➤ Turmeric Powder – ½ teaspoon
  • ➤ Salt – To taste
  • ➤ Black Pepper Powder – ½ teaspoon
  • ➤ Grated Ginger – 1/5 inch
  • ➤ Grounded Dry fruits - 4 table spoon
{ You can roast and grind almonds, cashew, walnuts, can add some coconut flakes if you have , that will enhance the taste even more}.

  • ➤ Assorted vegetables of your choice – 1 cup
           {You can take finely chopped or shredded carrots, peas, Broccoli, Cabbage etc.}

  • ➤ Lemon juice – 2 teaspoon
  • ➤ Chopped coriander leaves – 2 teaspoon
  • ➤ Water – 1 cup



Let’s begin with the recipe:



·        ➤ Heat pan on medium flame and add oil to it

·        ➤ Once oil is heated, crackle mustard seeds to it

·        ➤ Now add your chopped vegetables, if you like you can also add onions or garlic

·       ➤ Once vegetables are slightly cooked (it will take approximately one minute – keep the flame to medium), Now add ginger, turmeric powder, black pepper powder and stir well.

·        ➤ Now Add water and turn flame to high and bring it to boil

·        ➤ Once water starts to boil add vermicelli, salt and grounded nuts to it

·        ➤ Turn the flame to low

·        ➤ Keep the lid on and let it cook until vermicelli is cooked and softened

·       ➤ Add chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice and Serve Hot!

    Now enjoy!
